The headlight work is what started all of this. Before we were doing full builds, before we had a reputation for lifted trucks across Oklahoma, we were building custom headlights. Halos. Bi-LED retrofits. Prism work. It is the craft that put RAW on the map in the first place.
We have shipped sets to Alaska, Florida, Hawaii, Texas, basically anywhere there is a truck and someone with an opinion about lighting. The work travels because not many shops do it at this level.
And because of that, we have had to get very selective about who we build for.
What the Work Actually Involves
Custom headlight builds are not a bolt-on part. You are not swapping a housings in a parking lot in 45 minutes. You are disassembling factory headlight assemblies, retrofitting projectors or LED modules into the housing, installing halo rings, wiring control modules, resealing everything to factory spec so moisture does not destroy the build in six months, and then testing it all before it goes back on the truck.
Done right, a set of custom headlights can take most of a week. Done wrong, you have a beautiful-looking headlight that fails by spring, fogs up after every rain, and blinds oncoming traffic because the beam pattern is not set correctly.
Why We Are Selective
A few years ago we would take headlight builds as standalone jobs. You bring us a set of housings, we build them out, you pick them up. Simple enough.
The problem was that we had no control over what happened after. Housings that were already cracked or warped. Trucks that had other electrical issues that caused the halos to flicker or fail. Installs done incorrectly by a third party. And when something went wrong, it reflected on our work even when the build itself was perfect.
So we changed how we do it. Now, custom headlight builds are part of a full build. We are not just building the lights. We are building the whole truck, which means we control the install, the wiring, the fitment, all of it.
What That Means for You
If you want headlights done by RAW, you are getting a truck built by RAW. That is not us trying to upsell you. It is us making sure the work is done right and that we stand behind every part of it.
The trucks that come out of our shop with custom headlights look the way they do because everything was built together with intention. The lighting matches the suspension. The stance matches the wheels. The whole truck has a cohesive look because one crew built all of it.
The Builds We Do Take On
When we do a headlight build as part of a full truck build, it is one of the most satisfying parts of the whole project. The first time the lights go on and everything works the way it is supposed to, the halos fire up, the beam cuts clean, the truck looks exactly like what the customer had in their head. That is a good feeling.
We have done dual halo setups on GMCs. Bi-LED retrofits on F-150s and SuperDutys. Prism builds on Rams. BMW projectors that gave the truck a look nobody had seen before. Every one of those was part of a larger build and every one of those is something we are proud to have in the portfolio.
If you are thinking about a full build and custom lighting is part of that vision, let us know when you reach out for a quote. That is the conversation we are built for.
